Exhibitor profile

With the most diversified avocado-growing footprint in the world, Westfalia Fruit is recognised as the #avoexperts, renowned for our leading research and the sustainable production of our own quality avocados. Operating across the value chain, we source, ripen, pack, process and globally market avocados year-round. In 2019 our multinational Group celebrated its 70th anniversary and continues to draw on its rich heritage to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.
Part of the Hans Merensky Holdings Group, Westfalia Fruit is the avocado supplier of choice to both retail and wholesale customers, who are served by dedicated sales and ripening teams in the UK, Europe, North America, Latin America and southern Africa. Relevant markets are supplied with other fresh fruit grown around the world, including blueberries, pomegranates, apples, grapes, stone fruit, citrus, cherries, mangoes and passion fruit.
Processed products include avocado oil, HPP guacamole, frozen avocado, dried fruit and nuts. Seven in-house nurseries around the globe provide superior rootstocks and licensed varieties for expanding the Group’s year-round production capacity to meet ever-growing demand.
Running a responsible business means prioritising the wellbeing of surrounding environments and of stakeholders in the supply chain. Westfalia cares for its own people as well as local communities, delivering support in the form of skills development, education, primary health care and improved living conditions.
Westfalia strives to minimise its environmental impact by reducing waste and carbon emissions wherever possible, while striving to use resources more efficiently. Novel cultivar development, product innovation, eco-friendly packaging and soil conservation are among the Group’s many sustainability initiatives.
