Product description

LENZING™ for Agriculture provides fully biodegradable and compostable farming ropes and twines and other highly functional plastic-free solutions for sustainable agriculture and horticulture.

Key benefits
  • botanic origin: LENZING™ Lyocell fibers are characterized by their botanic origin. Together
with their biodegradability, strength, and safety for food contact, this makes them ideal material for farming ropes to secure vegetables and fruit such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers or hops.
  • strength: LENZING™ Lyocell fibers are versatile and distinguished by their high tenacity profile among
cellulose fibers. The high strength of LENZING™ Lyocell fibers allows for a lower specific use of material as compared to cotton. Ropes and twines of LENZING™ Lyocell fibers are typically thinner in size
than cotton twines, and also have a higher strength. As compared with common types of plastic, the strength of LENZING™ Lyocell fibers is comparable, but they o er the additional benefit of compostability.
  • biodegradable and compostable strength: LENZING™ Lyocell standard fibers are certified as
compostable and biodegradable under industrial, home, soil and marine conditions, and can be composted together with other biodegradable biological waste.
  • food contact: LENZING™ Lyocell standard fiber types have been certified for food contact compliance according to: • EU Regulations 1935/2004 and 10/2011, • U.S. FDA 21 CFR §176.170 and CFR §176.180 and • German Foodstu s and Animal Feed Code — LFGB
